Green Flag Day June 26th
We had a great day celebrating our third Green flag. The Lord Mayor, Joe Malone, Malcolm Noonan and Bernadette Maloney came to celebrate with us. We enjoyed a special new dance and had an ice -creams later.
Congratulations to our medal winners in Spikeball and Basketball.
Bhí an lá again. Thanks to Mrs Kelly, all the teachers, the green School Committee and to our visitors.
Sixth class put on a tremendous performance for the school and their parents. Rumpled Beauty is a tale of sadness, fun and romance and a missing remote control! But like all good tales there is a happy ever after ending!
A basketball tournament was held between 5th and 6th classes. The final, which was very closely contested was held on Wednesday June 17th.
Everybody came out to enjoy the semi final and the final. The teams in the final were J and F. The winning team was J. Congratulations girls and well done to all who took part. Thank to their teachers for organising the matches.
On Friday June 12th we held our annual cake sale. There was a wonderful selection of cakes, buns, cookies and all sorts of delicious treats on display.
A big thank you to all the parents who baked, donated and bought cakes. Thanks also to 5th and 6th classes, their teachers and Ms Bolger for all their work. It was a great success. €650 was collected for school funds. Go raibh míle maith agaibh go léir.
Junior Sports Day was held on May 27th. Everybody had great fun, and looked wonderful in their team colours.
We dedicated May 25th to 29th as our Friendship Week. We had lots of different activities, including Junior/Senior yards open door days, poetry and Circle of Friends.
Senior Sports Day
Senior Sports Day was held on June 3rd. It was a great success, lots of medals were won.
A generous member of our Parent Council donated a lovely bike which was raffled and raised €570 for the school. Thanks to all for their generosity. Lillie Mae in Room 5 was the lucky winner. Congratulations! Mrs Kelly is seen here promoting the prize with Ms Bolger and some of our ticket sellers on Sports Day.
