Halloween is almost here and everybody here in The Pres has had a very busy month.
Gaelic Football: our Gaelic Footballers did really well this term, and made it to the Quarter Finals. A big thank you to the team, their trainers, Ms Hennessy and Ms Woodcock, and to the parents and teachers who gave lifts and cheered on the team.
Tag Rugby: Room 16 girls have had Tag Rugby sessions with Noel Devlin, from Leinster Rugby.
Music/Dancing/Drama: Margaret Murran will be teaching music and singing to Senior Infants after Halloween. This is funded by the Parents Council. She will also be forming her choir from 3rd to 6th for 10 weeks for €25. Paul Martin is teaching jigs and reels to 4th and 5th classes on their tin whistles. Go raibh míle maith agat a Phól. Evelyn White continues to hold Irish Dancing classes every Wednesday after school. Ms McDermott is starting Drama Classes with Junior Classes after Halloween. Other classes have been enjoying their classes since September.
Congratulations: to Ms Begley on the birth of her gorgeous baby son recently and to Ms Maloney on the birth of her beautiful baby girl a few weeks ago. We wish both teachers and their families all the best in the future.
Religion: First Holy Communion is on Sunday May 21st and Confirmation is on Saturday March 25th 2017.
Health Promoting Schools: our committee have been doing wonderful work promoting the health and well being of everyone in the school, for the last two years. On Thursday October 27th all this hard work was rewarded by the presentation of our First Health Promoting Flag. Congratulations to the Committee, past and present and to all involved.
We had a great day on Friday October 28th. Lots of people dressed up and we all celebrated Halloween and getting our Health Promotion flag with A Monster March and healthy eating.
