Seachtain na Gaeilge: We had a very enjoyable and successful seachtain na Gaeilge. Professor Plunger, aka one of the Fanzini brothers, and his willing “volunteers”, provided great entertainment on Monday morning. Congratulations to all our Gaelgóirí and well done to everybody for making a big effort to use their Gaeilge as much as possible. Lean ar aghaidh leis! The fun quiz was great. Music: Well done to our 5th and 6th class choir who took part in The Peace Proms on March 2nd. Everybody from 1st to 6th enjoyed the concert by Bartsville High School in St.Canices on March 20th. Guitar and tin whistle lessons are going very well with Konor and Paul.
RTE and KCLR paid us a visit recently to interview some of our boys and girls.
World Book Day: Classes enjoyed story reading and meeting authors in Dubray Book Store.
Art: Shona Flood did some wonderful pottery with our 5th classes , as part of the Challenge to Change Project.
Sport: The lunch time Spikeball league organized by Ms Deasy was great fun. 1st class enjoyed learning hurling skills, and our senior girls are enjoying tag rugby.
Parents’ council: the Silver Circle Draw was a great success, a big thank you to everybody who supported it. the €6000 raised will be of great benefit to the school. Míle buiochas for the treats on the day of the holidays.
Green School: Everybody is making a big effort to save energy at home and at school. We hope to hear news of our second flag soon.
First Penance was on March 14th for our Second Classes.
Theatre: Our Infant classes enjoyed The Bockety world of Henry and Bucket on March 20th.
