World Book Day March 3rd
We celebrated World Book day on Thursday March 3rd. Lots of our boys and girls brought in their favourite books and dressed as characters from those books. Some classes went to visit The Book Centre and got to meet a local author, a past pupil of the Pres, Helena Duggan.
These are just some of the characters from different books that were to be seen all around the school.
Girls in Room 17 listened intently to Helena as she read from her book A Place Called Perfect. They got to ask her some questions about her life as a writer. It was a very enjoyable experience. Thank you to Helena and to the Book Centre. Of Course we know every day should be a day when we all enjoy reading!
Seachtain na Gaeilge
We have been celebrating Seachtain na Gaeilge with lots of different fun activities. Bhí na cailíní agus na buachaillí ag foghlaim agus ag caint Gaeilge ar fud na scoile. Classes have being enjoying learning Irish poems, songs, dances, tunes, seanfhocail and taking part in quizzes. Congratulations to these boys and girls on becoming Gaeilgeoirí na Scoile 2022. Well Done!
Comhghairdeas Gaeilgeoirí na Scoile 2022!
Second, third and fourth classes had a concert in the corridor!
Bhí an spórt ag gach duine ag canadh, ag aithris filíochta agus ag rince.
Creative Schools Committee
Here we see the members of our Creative Schools Committee with Mary Bourke, the coordinator, discussing their creative ideas for the future. Thank you to Mrs Millea , Mrs O’ Shea, Mary and the committee for all their work. This project is run by the Art’s Council who provide funding of €4000! We are very fortunate that our school was chosen to participate in this project. We are looking forward to seeing their ideas being put in place.
