Easter 2016
Proclamation Day: March 2015
We all gathered with pride to raise the tricolour outside the school to mark the centenary of the 1916 Rising. We sang the National Anthem, and two representatives from the school hoisted our National Flag, which had been presented to us by members of the armed forces. It is a day we will all remember.

Visit From The Defence Forces
On Thursday January 14th 2016, we had a visit from Sgt Ciaran Kennedy and Pte John Flynn from the Defence Forces team. They presented us with The National Flag and a copy of the Proclamation. One of our sixth class girls read an extract from the Proclamation. Sgt Kennedy gave a very interesting and informative talk on the history, care and protocol surrounding our National Flag. There was a question and answer session . Everybody sang the National Anthem. We are all looking forward to Proclamation Day on March 15th, when all the children of Ireland will take part in a special ceremony and proudly raise our National Flag in every school in the country.

It was a wonderful occasion which we will all remember in future years. We would like to say mile buiochas to the Defence Forces team.
