A big thank you to the Parents Council, Ms Bolger, Ms Cummins, 5th class, and to all the teachers and parents involved in Sports Day. A lot of work went into the preparation, time table, setting up and tidying up. It was brilliant. The sun shone, everybody had great fun and the ice-cream was yummy.
First Holy Communion May 20th 2018
Second class girls from Rooms 13 and 9 made their first Holy Communion with CBS boys, and Mother of Fair Love boys and girls on Sunday May 20th. Mr Brennan’s CBS Choir sang with our 5th and 6th class girls. It was a beautiful ceremony. The girls looked gorgeous in their beautiful dresses. We hope everybody had a great day with their families. A big thank you to their teachers, Mrs Millea and Ms Cuddihy for all their work preparing the girls for the event. Thanks to Ms Fitzpatrick and Mr Brennan for their work with the choir. It was a wonderful occasion.

Halloween Fun Fundraisor: Scary Siúlóid Scoile
This year fifth and sixth classes are organising a great school fundraiser. We would like everybody to dress up in a Halloween costume without a mask. We hope to raise much needed school funds by charging €2 per person to go on the walk. The scary siúlóid will take place between 11.15 and 12.15 on Friday October 27th, weather permitting.

Sixth Class Play : June 22nd
Sixth class put on a brilliant play this year. They entertained the school first and then their families.

The play told the story of Jackie and The Beanstalk, with lots of interesting characters included in the story. There was lots of singing, dancing and some great lines! There is a lot of talent in sixth class! The audience loved it and really got into the spirit of the play. The costumes and set were great. Thanks to Mrs Mc Dermot, sixth class teachers, sound engineers, Grainne and Ciara, and to the girls who put on a brilliant show. Everybody loved it!

There were lots of sporting activities on June 21st. It was a beautiful sunny day.

Rugby Blitz
While the Juniors were busy with their sports, Fifth and Sixth Classes were having a Rugby Blitz. The teams in the Blitz were Bangladesh, Croatia, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and South Africa.
The final took place between Ireland and Poland. There was lots of cheering for both sides, but after a great display of skills, Ireland were the winners. Míle buiochas to Ms Bolger, our coach Noel Devin and his assistants, and to fifth and sixth class players, who entertained us all.
Going on Tour
It’s the school tours season now. Some boys and girls have already been on their tours, and others are looking forward to theirs. But for our Junior Infants, June 14th 2017 was their First School Tour, a Teddy Bear’s Picnic in a “surprise” location!

Cake Sale 2017
Our annual cake sale took place on Friday June 9th. There were some delicious cakes, buns, pastries, brownies, cup cakes and biscuits for sale. There were some great bargains to be had on the books and novelties stalls. There were competitions guessing the sweets in the jar, raffles and special offers.

Our cake sale was a huge success. A big thank you to our local Supervalu and Dunnes stores for their contributions and support. Junior Infant Fun Day
Junior Infant Fun Day took place on June 2nd. It was brilliant, everybody had a great time. There were lots of fun activities in different stations going on around the school indoors and outdoors.

Silver Circle Draw: A big thank you to all the parents, boys, girls, neighbours, friends and families who supported the draw. Over €7000 was raised. The money raised will go towards the resurfacing of the Junior Yard. The draw was held on May 17th. Congratulations to all the lucky winners!
Fifth Class, Junior Entrepreneurs were in Lyrath Hotel to showcase their product, Squishies, on May 17th. It was a very enjoyable and worthwhile experience. A big thank you to Ms O’ Meara for all her work. Congratulations and well done Fifth Class!
First Holy Communion -May 21st 2017
First Holy Communion took place on Sunday May 21st for our Second Class girls, and the boys from CBS. It was a lovely ceremony, the choir sang beautifully, and everybody looked great. A big thank you to Mrs Millea and Ms Mc Carthy ,our second class teachers, for preparing our girls for the sacrament and to Mrs Fitzpatrick for her work with the choir. We hope you all had a great day with your families.

Wassa Wassa : drumming classes took place on May 29th and 30th. They were great fun.
We had a very exciting international tag rugby championship at the end of the season in March 2016. Our coach Noel and his son Ben refereed it. France and Spain were finalists, France were the winners. Congratulations!

All classes enjoy Speech and Drama classes and go to the theatre regularly. We also have visiting players. At Christmas time we have some great Nativity plays. In 2011 Fifth Class entertained us with Julius Ceasar, conducted by Ms. Maar Bolger.

These plays were “The Revenge of the Three Bears” & The Lady of Shallotte, written and directed by Miss Bolger. There was great audience participation. We loved the sixties music and beehive hairstyles. It was great entertainment. We wonder if any of our past pupils will have a career on the stage!
